parental perspective
I was listening to the music I've posted on this site at
work today. While listening I noticed two things, one of which is
obvious, the other is personal. Obviously, I don't have a good voice,
and anything that I've recorded is far far from anything "studio" or
"production." I'm no professional, at least not yet by myself in my
room on my old PII computer.
Personally, I hear potential when I listen to it.
Probably more than others would or more than I would when listening to
someone else's work. I think, "oh, my little baby could grow up to sound
good! It could be a real song one day!" So perhaps as a father I'll look
at my kids and think, "My boy/girl could be anything! A doctor, a
scientist, even a boat! Despite being off-key!"
So here's to seeing potential. And it might be a good
way to see other people, too.
