cornhole
One of my best friends came to visit me recently and he brought the game where you throw beanbags into a hole that's cut into a piece of wood. Sounds simple, but it's
really quite fun, even moreso than horseshoes, which is by all rights quite entertaining. It must be a frat adaptation because I don't think I'd want drunk dudes throwing sharp heavy
chunks of iron around. My friend was surprised I didn't know the game and was listing off other names I might have heard it by. The original name is "cornhole" because the bags are
traditionally filled with corn and the hole is traditionally... a hole. Here are some of the other names we came up with:
- cornbag
- corntoss
- bagtoss
- holetoss
- holebag
- baghole
- pitchbag
- pitchhole
- cornpitch
- pitchpitch
- shoveldink
- toss'n'stuff
- cob-counter
- beanchuck
- bagchuck
- holechuck
- cornchuck
- chuckhole
- holehole
Yeah. It was a great game, except the cornbags kept breaking at the seams and spilling their contents out for the squirrels' delight. Anyways, Nick, I hope you like our list.
