two weeks

Tonight at 10pm I have a flight for Belgium. I've done this 3 times before for work, but for some reason this time feels a little different. For some reason I feel a bit more independent and "on my own." This is odd, because the first time I traveled to Belgium I was just as much on my own.
Probably part of what contributes is remembering how long the trip can feel. I know I'm not going to India or Australia or some other place that takes 24 hours to go to, but there's still a sort of dread about the getting there. One long flight, then a rush through an airport, then a shorter flight, then a train ride, then a walk. So about 14 hours door to door. I guess that's not bad for going to another continent.
One thing that I am looking forward to is being joined by Jen. She will be arriving in Belgium 5 days from now, and I can't wait to see here when I get back to the hotel after a day at my company's headquarters. Then the real fun starts 2 days later, when we get to go off on our own for vacation (London and Paris). Oh la la. Then the real real fun starts when we get to fly home. Sort of. It's true that I'm looking forward to the forced relaxation, reading, and movie watching of the flight home, though I bet I'll have had enough about halfway through the flight.    Anyway, that's where I'll be the next 2 weeks. Au revoir.
